Marvelously Mint At The Union League Club

by Natalie

On Saturday we rolled into our Spring wedding season with a minty fresh recipe for  Something Old (Union League Club), Something New (teaming up with Anne Book Signature Style), Something Borrowed (Hello Darling’s Heirloom Collection), and Something Blue (Navy accents galore).  These sweet elements combined to create a personal and charming celebration for our amazingly thoughtful clients, Abby and Luke.

Pearls, sparkles, and bows donned their delicate personal flowers adding the couple’s classic style to the frilly white and ivory blooms. Perfectly poised stems of anemone, ranunculus, peony, garden rose, spray rose, freesia, and gardenia were accented by spring green and grey touches of scented geranium, silver-dusted seeded eucalyptus, bupleurum, dusty miller, and brunia while the darling flower girl made her entrance carrying a petite green button mum pomander.

As the bridal party and their photographer, Amanda Hein, snapped some pre-reception shots, guests were escorted upstairs to the Main Dining Room.  They were greeted by Anne Book’s team and the ULC staff and were invited to sign the couple’s guest book while mingling and enjoying custom cocktails paired with printed napkins bearing the details of the evening’s menu.

Guests sipped Manhattans (which also happen to be my family’s signature cocktail!) while taking in the rich and sparkling surrounds of the Main Dining Room. Bouquets of baby’s breath en masse  elevated by fluted silver urns topped the dining tables, surrounded by trios of mercury glass candlesticks.

Cocktail tables were decorated by a mélange of sparkling candlelight and Hello Darling’s heirloom vases filled with soft florals.  The long focal bar featured a crystal draped backdrop with suspended pomanders uplit in a soft blue palette.

Opposite the bar, guests cozied up in blue lounge chairs next to Abby and Luke’s darling framed engagement photos nestled beside a lucky little tuft of blooming clover. A cloud-like wreath of fluffy baby’s breath was hung on the grand fireplace and the hearth was filled with romantic candlelight.

The mantle was bookended by two green topiaries finished by wide mint satin bows matching the wreath, lit by a line of mercury glass candles.

A petite toss bouquet of baby’s breath was placed below the cutting cake topped by peonies and anemone. Jadite pie stands displayed candlelight, green trick dianthus, and delicately scented freesia with custom calligraphed signage for the Hoosier Mama pie bar that would shortly open for dessert.

Abby and Luke tied the knot on their love and we added a big bow to it. Congratulations to you both and thank you to Anne Book for inviting us to create this picture perfect day!
